Larry Hamm Injured in Friday City Accident
A 14 year old Lawrence boy named Larry Hamm sustained a slight cut above his eye in a two car crash Friday at 10th and NY Streets. He was a passenger in a car driven by Ees L Brown 54 of 1221 NY St. The Brown car collided with a vehicle driven by Sandra Miller 16 of 133 Perry. Damage to the cars was about 200 dollars.

Mantlein rested with a swollen ankle after practice as infection from osteomyelitis settled in overnight. TE’s father, a miner, rushed him to a nearby hospital in Picher where a bone specialist confirmed osteo. Penicillin was a new treatment at that time.
