Deadline set for quick fix on Hard 50 law
Gov Sam Brownback and Attorney General Derek Schmidt urged swift action to fix Kansas Hard 50 law after a Supreme Court ruling. A special session will open Sept 3 with a deadline to finish by Sept 5, aiming to preserve public safety and prevent 25 year parole in heinous murder cases.
