Midnight Greyhound Midnight’s capture ends a monthlong Lawrence chase
Morrison, a REGAP worker, describes Midnight the greyhound as she fled a July fireworks era in Lawrence. A community of trappers, volunteers, and residents tracked sightings, set kennel traps, and even debated leash removal as Midnight wandered from Deerfield to the Kansas River. After a rainstorm, she sheltered in a garage on Moon on the Meadow Farm where owner Jill Elmers and guest Karen Kemp secured her until Morrison’s team retrieved her. Midnight survived with a healed surgical wound and a broken toe, and now waits for a permanent home.
