San Rafael California August 5 Tom Mooney aged 54 lay seriously ill in San Quentin prison hospital with a gall bladder infection. Prison physician Dr Leo L Stanley and Dr Leo Eloesser of Stanford Medical School, hired by Mooney's counsel, said they believed he would recover. Farmer Killed by Plow Near Oxford Kentucky
Ira n Horack a 52 year old farmer southwest of Oxford was killed in a farm accident when he fell from a tractor and was crushed beneath a plow. His son Earnest witnessed the tragedy but could not reach him as the tractor dragged about 20 feet. The seat apparently slipped. Horack died almost instantly.
