The Methodist encampment at Bismarck Grove enjoys favorable weather aiding outdoor services. Rev. Embree of DeSoto delivers Genesis themed sermon urging departure from sin. Rev. Graham preaches on Repentance as essential for salvation. Local notices reference attendees, organizers, and a daily program including prayers, sermons, and meetings.
Mrs. Major Wilson of Lawrence led Clinton ladies at the Presbyterian Church on July 29 for forming a WCTU chapter. Officers elected include President Mra. M. W. Dean and Vice President Mra. J. W. Clock with recording secretary Mra. Jecnie E Dean. executive committee named. Jessie E. Dean served as secretary. Col H. H. Stanton of Topeka visited to help guide the event and supervise game animals later in Bus Marek Grove.

She says she had no direct hand, while the family, including two children buried alive, and multiple victims were slain on John Bender’s farm before the family fled to the Cherokee Nation.
