Rain Deluge Drenching Baldwin Area Over Two Inches
Heavy rainfall measured between two and a half and three inches in and around Baldwin last night. The downpour arrived too late to benefit early corn but will aid late plantings. In Stull district a one inch rain revived the early corn, though farmers feared most of it was burned. A. L. Holcom on the Wakarusa at the Dutton bridge noted river water was unusually clear. Farmers reported the slow rain soaked in rather than running off, easing moisture for crops.
