Docking Pushes Government Reform To Restore Public Confidence

He urged executive reorganization to create a truly responsible system and advocated voter referendums on alternate revenue sources and tax reform.

Karami Quits Lebanon Job Amid Riots and Tense Crisis

Premier Rashid Karami resigned after four months in office as Lebanon faced two days of deadly rioting with 16 killed and about 100 wounded. He urged coalition government formation while resisting full support for Palestinian guerrilla groups amid fears of Israeli retaliation and a dangerous sectarian split. Karami, 47, had been Lebanon’s premier since January, succeeding Abdullah Yafi after Israel’s attack on Beirut airport.

An outstanding Kansas physical therapist will be honored at the opening 8 45 a m Saturday session of the two day annual meeting of the state American Physical Therapy Assn at the Ramada Inn. Keynote speakers include Elizabeth Hall of Highland View Hospital Cleveland Ohio discussing The Kinesiology of the Hand. Capt Harry T Bowman Irwin Army Hospital Fort Riley will discuss Restoration of the Function of the Upper Extremity at 1 30 p m Saturday. Dr William F Benson Kansas City Mo will speak on Reconstructive Surgery of the Hand at 3 p m. A 7 30 p m banquet will feature Frank L Gentry executive secretary of the Kansas Hospital Assn. The APTA business meeting runs 9 a m to noon Sunday concluding the conference.

In Hamilton New York about 40 members of the Association of Black Collegians entered Colgate University’s faculty club at 4 am evicting a cook her husband and two others. The action followed dissatisfaction over plans for a black cultural center.
