Relays draw big crowd for Kansas Relays classic afternoon
Fans packed Memorial Stadium for the 2005 Kansas Relays. Top names like Greene and Olympian Jones drew large crowds while local and college athletes boosted the day. Weather and strong competition helped restore energy after years of waning attendance. Judges noted the Gold Zone crowd’s excitement, with many praising the event’s focus on major sprints and field events. Local families from Topeka and Lawrence gathered to watch the afternoon showcase.
