Ottawa Kan April 24 after a prolonged search the body of Miss Kate Lee Deford was recovered from the Marig Dow Cygnes near Forest Park. The coroner ruled drowning. Miss Deford, about 18, daughter of Captain J W Deford a well known Ottawa resident, had suffered melancholia since her mother’s death two years earlier and disappeared Tuesday evening after leaving home at 5 33 oclock. Local friends and district court helped in the search and the body was recovered after several hours.

A major fire swept Marignville, a lumber town, destroying about 190 buildings and causing nearly 320000 in losses with insurance not exceeding 75009.
