Hunger strike death of youth tied to Ada Deputy Sheriff case
McAlester Okla April 23 CPI Jack Scott aged 17 died today in McAlester penitentiary hospital after a 16 day hunger strike begun in Pontotoc county jail Ada. Prison physician Dr T H McCarley said starvation led to paralysis and relapse of non infectious meningitis. Scott had been unconscious for 24 hours and was held while awaiting trial for the killing of Deputy Sheriff Alvis Jones.
