A minor wreck at Thirteenth and Tennessee sparked a police inquiry after a prank typewritten note accused Chester Robinson of speeding. Robinson pleaded guilty, Ransom contested fault, and Robinson admitted blame. Ransom was fined 5 dollars plus court costs totaling 24.05 dollars. Police later learned of the incident from Robinson and noted several unreported injuries in recent events.
A native Filipino student Jose V. Catucom at K. UL was intercepted by four youths on West Twelfth Street after refusing to wear a freshman cap. He was bound and gagged, hair cut, trousers removed, then driven to Oak Hill. Neighbors contacted police. She came to Lawrence ten years ago from Delphos and was active in the W C T U and Lawrence Federation of clubs. Funeral at First Methodist church with burial in Delphos.
Kansas State Agricultural College horticulturalist J. G. Kelly will visit Lawrence next week to inspect acre orchards planted by the college. The test aims to identify trees best suited to Kansas conditions and maximize fruit yield on Douglas county farms owned by Henry Streigel Charles Czapelinaki and Wilson Martin along Route No. 1.
