Life Terms For Four Kansas City Youths
Four young men convicted of kidnapping and the multiple rapes of a housewife received life sentences from U S District Judge Arthur J. Stanley in federal court. A 60 year old Kansas City man Albert T. Douglas was found dead Monday afternoon in a room at the Holiday Inn at 23rd and Iowa Streets. An autopsy by county officials is pending to determine the cause of death. The body was taken to Rumsey Funeral Home.

KU Receives $88,800 NASA Grant for Engineering Design

Norman A. Endacott 62 of 2323 Orchard Lane died Monday evening at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after an illness of less than two months. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Rumsey Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include wife Laura a daughter Grace Brooks Abilene Tex a son Alan C. Endacott Topeka sister Grace Shepard Topeka four brothers and two grandchildren. He owned the Lawrence Memorial Company a monument firm and was a past president and life member of the Lawrence Sertoma Club. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church and had long served as official greeter.

Robert Dring of White Lakes Inc Topeka says he purchased an eight acre site at the southeast corner of Sixth and Iowa Streets from Dr Richard Nelson of Lawrence. Wiles Appointed to Highway Right of Way Chief
Harry Wiles of Topeka becomes head of the Highway Department right of way division replacing Dale Maxwell of Lawrence who resigned last February. Wiles will earn 14592 a year, more than his prior 13000 salary at the Kansas Corporation Commission. He resigned from the KCC April 6 to Gov. Docking effective last Saturday and will take an administrative post. Docking named Dale Saffels to succeed Wiles at the KCC. Wiles previously ran unsuccessfully for Kansas governor in 1964.
