Innocent look-alike freed after prison misidentification
In Jackson Mississippi Mellissa Gammill was released after a judge threw out her 10 year burglary conviction. Police now consider Pauline Meshea Bailey the real suspect though she is jailed for unrelated charges. Gammill and Bailey, both in their mid twenties, resemble each other and detective Jimmy Houston called the lookalike case unbelievable. Gammill’s family welcomed her home and her lawyer Debra Allen said the case shows a fluke misidentification and the family never gave up.
