Lawrence Marine awarded Bronze Star for disarming IEDs
Lawrence native Bran don R. Trent a Staff Sergeant in the U S Marine Corps was awarded a Bronze Star for actions in Afghanistan in 2013 during a 24 hour period in Helmand Province where he neutralized nine IEDs He and Matthew T Collins noted Trent manually disarmed two devices when remote methods failed He also earned a combat distinguishing device for valor
