Bernard E Domann born April 11 1925 Mooney Creek Kansas died April 11 2012 in Lawrence Kansas on his birthday. He built Domann Drug Inc on the Atchison Mall after buying the drugstore in 1953 and led local renewal after the 1958 flood. He expanded into The Wishing Well and Clothes Vault on the downtown mall and employed many local youths. Survivors include his wife Kay and son Mikel along with numerous siblings and children. A Celebration Mass was held April 14 2012 at St Josephs Catholic Church Atchison with a memorial fund set to ACES Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment and Lawrence Humane Society.

Lawrence man charged with rape and burglary in Wednesday incident
Douglas County prosecutors filed rape, domestic battery and aggravated burglary charges against a 36 year old Lawrence man. He allegedly raped a 30 year old acquaintance by force or fear and entered her residence without permission. Bond was set at 75000 with a Monday hearing. ICE placed a hold on the inmate.
