Payless plans return to Lawrence market in May
Payless ShoeSource plans to reopen in Lawrence at Bob Billings Parkway and Wakarusa Drive, hoping to open during the first week of May. The move follows the late December closure of its 3230 Iowa Street store, with Sleep Number the new tenant. The company, based in Topeka, has closed about 900 stores since 2016 and is evaluating its corporate structure amid recent layoffs.
