Jury Deliberating In Mumford Case

KPL Names Contractors For Second Phase Of Lawrence Plant
Kansas Power and Light selects Combustion Engineering Inc of Windsor Conn and Austin Building Co of Dallas for the second phase of the 430000 kilowatt addition to the Lawrence generation station north of the city. The project totals 40 million dollars with completion planned in Spring 1971. The 20 story steam generator will produce 3 million pounds of steam per hour at 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. air quality control will remove 99 percent of particulates and over 83 percent of sulfur. The plant will be able to use coal gas or oil and will boost KPL capacity to about 1 43 million kilowatts.
