Two Students Flees Store Burglary Ends in Death

Acquaintance Struck Up in Kansas Turnpike Collision
Joe P. Reilly of Topeka met a deer Friday on the Kansas Turnpike at mile post 14, about 13 miles east of Lawrence. The collision damaged his station wagon left rear, about $200, and the deer was not found after a search. It was the third such accident in the same area since last fall.

Bus Collision Injures Nearly 30 Children in New Jersey
In Spotswood New Jersey nearly 30 school children were injured slightly when two school buses collided. One bus was starting up to pick up children and was struck from behind by a slow moving bus. Twenty five children aged 6 to 11 suffered bruises and the rest minor cuts. The driver of the second bus Jessie Ashburner an expectant mother was taken home as a precaution after helping children off. Police Chief Stanley Lenart drove a third bus in the line. He put the speed at about 3 miles per hour noting a child in the aisle and the driver said a momentary distraction led to the crash.
