River rescue turns to recovery after bridge fall

A construction crew on a highway bridge platform collapsed and fell about 100 feet into the swollen Arkansas River. One worker was recovered dead, two others remain missing as divers cannot reach the swift water.

Boy 12 Nabs Attacker Killing Man Protecting Mother

In Hyattsville Maryland a 12 year old boy fatally stabbed a man during an attack on his mother at a boarding house in Landover. Police said prosecutors will review possible charges. The boy described entering the scene and saying he stabbed him because the man was killing his mother. The victim, Salomon Noubissie, was 64 and died later. The boy and mother, Cheryl Stamp, are Cameroonian immigrants who had moved into the house recently. Authorities noted Maryland allows third party defense in violent attacks.
