Exciting Runaway Incident Involving Hagerty and Horses
Mr Jack Hagerty of New York Life Insurance Company hired two young horses and a buggy near Baldwin. A broken horse caused a runaway toward a fence but the horses leaped over it, dragging Hagerty and the buggy through a cornfield. Hagerty was shaken but later sent to a train for treatment. The Lakeview Shooting and Fishing Association then announced a leadership change, appointing Thomas B Chapman as superintendent effective Oct 15, replacing Miller. Mrs Chapman is noted as capable.
