Longtime Douglas County resident Oliver Clark dies at home
Oliver Clark aged about eighty five died Friday at his Pleasant Valley home five miles west of the city from Brights disease. Born in New York in 1852 he came to Kansas in 1861 and leaves a wife three daughters and two sons. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon September 2 at the Dunkard church Pleasant Valley with interment in the nearby cemetery.

North Pole expedition ship Miranda lost with Dyche rescued
