Health Board to Enforce Laws and District Structure Noted
Health officers across the state will be held to strict enforcement as the State Board of Health outlines duties. The board divides the state into nine districts, assigns a district member, and will forward neglect complaints to the secretary. Water Shutoff Leaves City Dry With No Fire Protection
The Water Company carried out its threat to shut down the water system and stop the pumps. At 6 o clock the fires were out, the stand pipe emptied, and private consumers faced loss of supply. The United States Indian School and about 450 private customers suffered most as the city relied on an old steam engine and the river for any fire protection. The fire department will use the city steam engine and hose reel to control any outbreak. Refunds of water rents are being processed, with some customers declining refunds to preserve water access.

County Convention Call For Free Silver Ticket
A county convention was scheduled for September 23 at the court house.
