Night watchman Phillips found the front doors unlocked around 2 am Tuesday and observed disturbed goods. Evidence suggests local thieves entered and stole umbrellas jewelry and knick knacks with no money taken.
Rev. Hector Cowan and his brother Henry, both living legends in a late night clash, mistook each other for burglars in a Hobart New York home. The brothers, once rivals in improvised football, battled amid wrecked furniture until light revealed the mistaken combatants. Both sustained bruises and a household chorus of ridicule followed.
In Justice Charlton's court Friday, Mrs. Mary Bryant faced charges of disturbing the peace and threatening Miss Bertha Hindman. They also authorized drawing lessons for teachers, bought geography books, and adjusted numerous teacher salaries and appointments. The board debated budgets, salaries, and non resident pupil tuition while planning an additional private kindergarten room at Central school. The next bond payment is due July 1895 and total school property is valued at 1,805,295 dollars.
