Two Years For Taylor Defalcation Case in South Dakota
The defaulting State Treasurer of South Dakota, Wil Gerty, faces sentencing after bondsmen surrender 106000 in checks and drafts and a list of preexisting equities. The state plans to credit 100000 against the deficit, bondsmen to cover the rest, and the claimed twenty year sentence is reduced to a two year maximum due to a defective statute.
