Negro Burglar Caught After Dunagin Whitaker Theft

John Galloway, night watchman, captured a burglar at the Dunagin Whitaker Company store. The suspect admitted a larger plot with four others, naming accomplices as police push to arrest the rest. Jasper County Farmer Killed By Fast Train

Heidelberg March 30 Special. Travis McGraney, a farmer from near Heidelberg, was found dead beside the Lew Orleans Northeastern railroad tracks about a mile from Heidelberg. A freight train was reported passing at 1 p.m. The body bore a single facial bruise, suggesting a possible blow before being struck. McGraney lived with his wife and several children, about two miles from Heidelberg. He had left town around nine o'clock to walk home and had been drinking.

Drunken Intruder Shot After Break-in at Richton Mall

At about ten at night last night a drunken intruder forced entry into Manley Trussel’s boarding house room at Mrs. Jordan’s. W. A. Manley, a sawyer at Tichion Lumber, fired several shots in self defense. one bullet grazed the intruder’s head and prompted Manley to retreat as the assailant, drunken and obstreperous, was driven away.
