Ebisville Mississippi January 2 the newly elected County Board of Supervisors elected Mr B DuBose of Real One as Chairman with all members present The day focused on approving bonds for officials and meeting candidates for appointive county posts including Chancery Clerk Bufkin and deputy W Walters Additional job contests centered on Superintendent of the County Board Squad Keeper of the Poor House and Farm janitor and County attorney positions.
Everett Montgomery and Net tie Everett wed Saturday evening at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. E B Witherspoon officiating. The couple are well known in Elilaville and start life together in this city.
The chancery court met Monday but adjourned to Tuesday morning due to a legal holiday. Several land tracts were sold at proceedings, notably the Ulmer lace at Blackburn sold for about 9700. The property spans roughly four hundred acres and is valued higher, though bidders pressed on as the mortgagee contested the proceedings and title validity.
The Pastors' Council met at St John’s Episcopal Church on New Year’s Day at 10 o’clock. Present were Revs J M Weeme J J Golden J F McClellan W D Spurtin and L W Rose. The move signals a heated contest for Mississippi Democratic votes with Harmon Underwood and Clark also in play while Wilson appears the preferred choice among many lawmakers.

Mary Godall, his mother in law, his wife, and William Green were arrested. Godall confessed, implicating all three while deputies secured the confession.

Pink Smith leading with 38 votes over Lucius Blount and others as sessions begin and committee fighting promises a busy day.
The N C N railroad raises the Laurel Ellisville rate from 20 to 22 cents. The line covers about seven miles and the company now charges three cents per mile on all tickets and fares.

Ellisville January 2. At Tuesday morning session of the new Board of Supervisors Judge Stone Deavours of Laurel elected County Attorney for the year 1912. Salary will probably remain at present figure for a year. Decision made to employ a Superintendent of County Convicts independent of the Superintendent of the County farm. Neither official selected. Mr Fred Bynum accepts deputy sheriff post at Laurel and Mr Amos Jordan the sheriff will be chiefly at Ellisville.
