S and L leaders urge long term housing role in 1970s
Arthur H. Courshon, president of the National League of Insured Savings Associations, told 600 S&L officials in Boston that the industry must stay a long term housing lender. He urged inroads into center city housing, using federal programs, new debentures, and expanded powers to fund housing for the disadvantaged, while criticizing tax proposals that would raise costs and curb housing funds.
