Las Vegas Hotels and a Tycoon’s Gamble in the Sixties
New York billionaire Ed Lowe pursued a non gaming resort hotel on the Strip, investing six million in the Tallyho which failed without casino action. He later sold the venture and returned to New York, while Las Vegas lore recalls his bold bet and eventual retreat. A lunch with Lowe at the Dunes followed a tour of the Aladdin, formerly the Tallyho. Also note Laurie Loman's audition at Congo Room in the Sahara as talent buyers seek acts for tomorrow.
