Ford II Sees Optimistic Outlook and Expansion Plans
Henry Ford II told reporters in San Francisco that Ford Motor Co expects a strong fourth quarter with new 1966 models and a positive 1986 trend. Directors approved 389 million dollars for facility expansion as part of a 24 billion outlay through 1967, including 6.6 million for Philco laboratories in Palo Alto to boost aerospace work. Ford opposes a four day work week and says automation reduces costs but requires worker retraining.
