A coalition including the National Association of Evangelicals, Plymouth Brethren, Mennonite Church, Seventh-Day Adventists and other fundamentalists urged Congress to exempt members from union membership as a condition of employment. They opposed repealing Taft-Hartley Section 14-B and sought a workable alternative for workers whose beliefs bar joining outside churches.
