Missing Teenager Search Called Off Near Tonopah
Kathy Simon a 15 year old girl vanished Memorial Day in the rugged Table Mountain area about 80 miles north of Tonopah Nevada. After a week up to 200 people aided by aircraft and dogs searched Cottonwood Creek and nearby ponds but no trace was found. An underwater team checked beaver ponds with no results.

Disturbed Passenger Removed From Flight to Las Vegas
A National Airline DC1 en route from San Francisco to Miami diverted to Las Vegas Tuesday after a passenger, Wyvonne C. Gunn Jr., 21, wearing heavy makeup, caused a disturbance. Police and federal agents said he seemed mentally unstable and the U.S. Attorney’s office announced no charges. The pilot reported he believed the man dangerous due to remarks on board.
