Las Vegas gaming authorities shut down the Pioneer Club last night after an emergency order. Attorney James E. Rogers arrived to witness the raid while casino workers sealed the keno operation and slot machines. The board alleges a rigged four deck dealer’s shoe altered odds in favor of the house and will file a formal complaint within days. Mrs Elardi faced the closure with tears and offered no comment.

Allied troops freed 34 chained prisoners after a brief clash with Viet Cong in the Mekong Delta area. U.S. spokesmen earlier said a 10-man Army landing boat was overdue, possibly sunk or in Cambodian waters. They were moved from a prison camp after B52 raids by about 40 Viet Cong troops who chained them to stakes and left them.
