Prisoners Freed After Two Years In Mekong Delta Field
Allied troops freed 34 prisoners of war found chained together in an open field 22 miles west-southwest of Can Tho. Several were village officials and 13 women held by the Viet Cong for up to two years. The release followed a U S B 52 bombing raid that forced their move.
