Stockholders of the defunct Bonanza Hotel on the Strip were told a reopening might occur in April. Bankruptcy referee Russell Taylor presided as attorney Herman Glatt said a wealthy investor group could fund more money, though names were not revealed. The hotel closed Oct. 19, 1967 due to financial troubles, yet rooms continued to be rented.

Col Thomas Miller says tourism drives Nevada and outdoor recreation must grow with the state. Six inmates deemed troublemakers are cleared to return to duties after an unrest phase following a food strike. twenty five remain isolated after plans to seize the prison.
United Press International reports a trainmen walkout halted or slowed movement on Missouri Pacific and spread to Seaboard Coastline. The BRT stringently called strikes over crew levels, labeling it featherbedding, while officials urged a presidential emergency board to stop traffic disruption. Potential spread was noted to Gulf Mobile and Ohio Southern Railway Union Pacific Chesapeake and Ohio and Boston and Maine.
A fire damaged an apartment building at 1941 N. H St in Las Vegas. Firefighters worked for hours while Mr and Mrs Issac Brown brought coffee for the personnel. Origin of the blaze was not determined late last night.
Bonnie Wade pleaded nolo contendere in District Court to involuntary manslaughter over a Dec 11, 1967 crash at West Oakey and West Wind Road that killed Richard LaMar Neeley. Judge Howard W. Babcock set sentencing for March 7.
Attorneys for Central Telephone Co request dismissal of two wiretapping suits filed in district court alleging bugging of the Fremont Hotel offices.
