United Press International reports Israeli planes attacked Egyptian tar gets around Suez City for about four hours, targeting artillery and antiaircraft batteries. The strikes extended into Jordan and Lebanon with mortar fire on Arab positions as retaliation for guerilla rocket attacks into Israel.

Hijacker Lands New York to Havana Flight With 28 On Board
A gunman seized control of a United Airlines 727 from LaGuardia with 28 people aboard and ordered it to Havana. Captain Axel D. Paulsen reported the hijack as the 59th U S commercial flight diverted to Cuba this year. The jet landed in Jose Marti Airport after bypassing Atlanta for a direct Cuba run.

LV Youth Hurt In Cycle Mishap
An 18 year old college student Michael Gordon of 1001 Dumbarton was injured when his motorcycle collided with a truck at Washington and 25th Streets. Gordon remains in the ICU with head injuries at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital. The truck was driven by Jerry Huntado of 237 S 27th St. The accident occurred Friday afternoon during a left turn. A second incident left 9 year old Michael Callaway of 350 Deauville Lane injured in a pedestrian vehicle collision on Charleston Avenue at Shadow Lane. Callaway was struck by Jack Leonard of 712 Tom O Shanter Ave and admitted to Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital with satisfactory condition.

Ammo Ship Abandoned By Crewmen Near Hawaii
The 459 foot Badger State carrying two thousand tons of TNT was abandoned by its 39 crewmen about an hour before explosions rocked the vessel 1500 miles northeast of Hawaii. Fourteen survivors were rescued by the Greek ship Khian Star, including master Charles Wilson. A U.S. Air Force HC130 provided life rafts and markers.
