Budget veto up to Laxalt blasts RACAP in Nevada
Former RACAP executive director Jack Fagg blasted the $300,000-a-year anti-poverty program as a waste of tax money as Nevada opens an investigation into its effectiveness across 14 rural counties. Gov. Laxalt directed a review by Willie Wynn, with Fagg criticizing staff, travel spending, and the lack of year-round programs. He praised some Ely and Elko workers while detailing budget, vehicle, and reimbursement controversies and noting his own efforts to realign staff and programs.
