County Board Approves Record 1969 70 Budget

Clark County Commissioners approve a record budget of 27,079,573 for fiscal year 1969 70. The plan includes seven appropriation funds and a proposed tax rate of 1.3907. Officials will present the package to the Nevada Tax Commission.

Fatal crash on Tonopah Highway kills man and injures woman

A collision on Tonopah Highway at Smoke Ranch Road left Steven Scheeler, 27, of Montana, dead on arrival at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital. The other driver, 71-year-old Sylvia Walker of 5701 Balzar Ave, was taken to the emergency room in critical condition. Both were involved in a violent impact crash yesterday near Las Vegas.
