Calvert Western Exploration Co of Fort Worth Texas and Brinkerhoff Drilling Co of Colorado are apparent low bidders on two Atomic Energy Commission drilling projects in Central Nevada. Bids opened by the AEC Nevada Operations Office show exploratory and hydrological holes about 120 miles northeast of Tonopah near Hot Creek Valley, south and east of a potential underground test site. The bid for exploratory and hydrological holes No 21 was 415 786 dollars.

Crime Study Workshop Slated At Sands Hotel

The Nevada Association on Crime and Delinquency will host a one day workshop Friday at the Sands Hotel led by president John Ray. The program titled Sound Off Communications Lets Talk will feature Judge Howard Babcock District Attorney George Franklin Bill Fain Clark County Juvenile Probation Paul Toland director of Adult Probation and Parole North Las Vegas Sgt. Commission Denies Zoning Bid In Reno

Coroner Homes of Reno lost its appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court challenging a Washoe County denial of cluster zoning for about 148 homes on 103 acres around a golf course near Reno. The court upheld the county’s zoning authority and found no clear reason to overturn the variance denial amid neighbor protests.

Voter Registration Deadline Noted for Local Servicemen

The Las Vegas station KLAS-TV Channel 8 was sold to Hughes Tool Co. for 3.65 million. Richard Gray presented the purchase check to H. M. Greenspun, who handed the keys to Paul Stoddard as the new general manager. Greenspun praised Hughes management for elevating local television.
