A crew of construction men and equipment are advancing the main transmission line from Boulder City to Las Vegas for the Southern Nevada Power Company. The project includes the Las Vegas terminal at Main and Garces streets and new transformer stations, with two 75 MVA transformers weighing 31 009 pounds each and oil filling requirements.

Guest Speaker At LDS Church by Dr. Widtsoe

Dr. John A. Widtsoe of Salt Lake City was the guest speaker at the Sunday evening session of the LDS church in this city. He is noted as one of the twelve apostles in church government. Bishop Harold Brinley introduced him as the choir, under Eldon Larson, provided musical numbers with a trio of Mrs. Marion B. Earl, Mrs. Tom Adams, and Mrs. LeRoy Whipple assisting. Dr. Widtsoe departed Monday for Los Angeles.

City board halts paving extension decision to year end

The board of city commissioners discussed extending paving to Ninth Street from Fremont to Garces and Eighth Street from Clark to Garces. The item was laid over until after the first of the year for consideration of additional paving projects.
