Commission Appointed to Assess Damage in Laramie County

In district court a petition by the Nebraska and Wyoming Central railroad seeks a special commission to assess damages from a new Burlington branch across Judge Whitehead and related properties near Guernsey. Commissioners Schitner Crawford and Drake named. bond posted for immediate entrance. About 200 workers push a 14 percent grade through the ranch land, despite objections to disruption of homes and outbuildings.

Franston Wyoming June 13 Fd Davis a Callister Land Live Stock herder found an old ox yoke on the Mormon emigrant trail four miles east of the Wyoming divide. The weather beaten hickory yoke weighs twenty four pounds and bears B Y 1847 with an ancient key and staple. It appears genuine and was turned over to W D Callister who may place it in a pioneer relic collection.

Cheyenne June 10 an escalation in the Iron Mountain feud after several cows owned by Mrs Clara M Fullerton were shot in her meadow near Tron Mountain. No arrest yet. Livestock Arrivals and Shipments Across Five Markets

Readings from the Department of Commerce and Labor show four month livestock totals for Chicago Kansas City Omaha St Louis and St Joseph at 11 429 655 head versus 11 414 385 and 10 065 569 in prior years. Hogs lead the movement at 5 037 048 head with cattle 2 250 797. horses and mules greatest in St Louis.

Bloodless Bloodshed Near Jackson Hole Battle Over Rustled Cattle

Reports from Jackson Hole Wyoming recount a fierce clash as about ninety head of cattle were driven toward a railroad point. A running fight spanning sixty miles left six dead, four outlaws and two ranchers, with several horses killed before cattle were recovered.
