Monday council meeting minutes due next week. Local residents report visits, sales, and social events including tennis club organization and a Ladies Aid tea. Grain prices, telephone installs, road work, and livestock activity are noted alongside weather and mail service remarks.
We have our first class machine shop open for all kinds of work. Cracked cylinders and crank cases welded on shortest notice. Bring in or mail your storage batteries to be charged. We install all kinds of electric equipment. Agents for Delco and Fairbanks lighting outfits.
Two births recorded May 11 and May 16 at Scott hospital and Cavell respectively. Brircuam born to Mr and Mrs F Bingham Landis a daughter who lived only hours. Macey born to Mr and Mrs Jos Macey a daughter who also died shortly after birth.
The Minister approves By-law No 9 enabling Bushville to join with other municipalities to indemnify crop owners from hail losses. A special rate of four cents per acre is levied for 1917 on lands assessable for municipal taxes, excluding hamlets and Dominion grazing leases, with withdrawal provisions as specified. Dated at Lydden, May 1917.
The Rural Municipality of Rosemount No. 378 publishes a list of poundkeepers per Sub-section 3 Sec. 8 of The Stray Animals Act. Names include H Hayen, H N Veale, N McLeod, Wm Wood, J A Cummings, and T J Armstrong with corresponding land descriptions. James Barr-Hwaits serves as Secretary-Treasurer.
Rural Municipality of Rosemount No 378 enacts report rules after fire. Owners or occupants must within seven days provide location date structure occupancy cause value insurance and damages including contents and insurers. Penalty up to two dollars per day and twenty five dollars total for noncompliance. Done and passed May 5 1917 by Treasurer James Brarrewarre.
