Washington Sept 2 Associated Press reports the medical bulletin on Mrs. Harding notes improvement in general appearance and enlargement from nephrosis subsiding. Crisis seems passed with no immediate need for surgical procedure.
Kiwanis members gathered at the Noble Motel noon meeting despite some away on business. The group noted representation at the Tri Club session in Douglas with Rotarians and Lions and discussed securing a dormitory for Vocational High School students in the Exchange Building on Lincoln Street, housing 25 youths at cost not exceeding 25 dollars per month.
An explosion during firefighting at a business district umbrella store killed Captain George Lente and injured seventeen sailors with serious burns. Captain Lewis fell from a roof as a back-draft sparked the blast.

Troop A of the cavalry corps returned home last night from a two week encampment at Douglan. The unit spent two months in camp with daily drills and intensive training including 3200 o block workouts. Encampment command was Lt Colonel Mentacr and Fort J. A. Runsel, with inspection by General Whitmore of the 9th Army. Other troops from Lovell Cody Sheridan Douglas Riverton and Wheatland joined the Lander unit.
Joe Gnick of Hudson was arraigned on a charge of age ovated ssenulk in the porun of Prank Boott of Fort Waah vile. The alleged assault occurred during Laker Day celebrations at Hudeon, with knicks used and the victim sustaining head injuries. Tow Vale pleaded not guilty and was bound over to Detriot Court. John Walia of Sweetwater was in town yesterday.
William Congrave, president of the Dail Eireann, declares in Dublin that those waging arms against the Irish government risk replacement if they threaten supremacy. He demands a constitutional peace with those in rebellion, with parliament sanctioning all arms and control over disarmament.

Portland Maine September reports early returns from 44 towns show Senator Hale leading Hale 99 189 to Cottle 72 791 by two votes while Baxter Pattingall trail Wattongall Democrat with 102 004 to 73 423. Parcels also show Park Wurst leading Republican.
