Genoa Italy April 10 representatives from 33 states gathered in the ancient city for the to be most important economic conference since Versailles. Plans focus on rebuilding Central Europe and rehabilitating Russia, seen as supreme concerns and far reaching in impact.
Associated Press dispatch from Indianapolis notes the second week of nationwide miners strike begun with the union still united. Lewis reports the non union fields show growing favor for the union cause as the United Mine Workers press to maintain momentum.
Governor Robert D. Carey proclaims April 27 Arbor Day in Wyoming. He urges statewide observance with tree planting, beautification of homes and parks, and educational reflection on General Ulysses S. Grant's leadership at Appomattox. The proclamation ties the centenary birth of Grant to the holiday.

Berlin April 10. A report says twenty three French soldiers and an unknown number of Germans were killed and injured when an explosion occurred yesterday at the Huptiwe Geielting Works near Blemvita in Upper Silesia. The blast is said to have happened in a temporary structure connected with the works during a shift change.
A low storm of considerable intensity swept the Northern Rocky Mountain plateau last night and today, bringing high winds in parts. Lander Wyoming recorded eight inches of snow, Cheyenne saw a 42 mile wind, and Leadville Colorado reported eight above zero as the coldest reading.

Detroit officials trial a program to alter left handed children by teaching them to use right hands. Principal Kuspp cites no proof that left handedness harms learning and warns against forcing a change, calling it potentially risky and unnecessary.
