Rising waters forced the All-American show to close Thursday night. Water reached knee depth and threatened barns. by Friday morning cattle numbering around 500 were moved to the State Hospital Grounds. Most animals exited by 7:30 with one bull remaining. arena water measured about 10 inches and barns about 1% feet. Milk trucks faced access issues with up to 700 milking animals affected.
Renowned agricultural photographer Grant Heilman and his wife Barbara Whipple will relocate to Buena Vista Colorado to open a combined studio and build a home on a Rocky Mountain slope.
