Ranck Herd Tops Red Rose in DHIA Production
The Harry H. Ranck Holstein herd of R1 Quarryville led Red Rose DHIA with a yearly average of 24.03 cows, producing 6125 pounds butterfat and 15 526 pounds milk. Second was Raymond F. Witmer’s Guernsey herd on Willow Street at 4614 cows and 578.5 pounds butterfat. Breed leaders include Beiler, Marti, Landis, Groff, Stoltzfus, Eshleman, Kurtz, Witmer, and others. board members and officers were reelected. Head tester Curtis Akers was named outstanding tester. Penn State’s Gilmore spoke on record-keeping delays and future improvements.
