New Holland Farmers Day Fair Schedule Headlined
The 40th New Holland Farmers Day Association fair runs Wednesday to Saturday. The 4 H Baby Beef Club exhibits begin Thursday at 1 p m with judging and sale at the New Holland Sales Stables. Pigs and cattle display in Earl Lauder's lot. Tractor Driving Contest at 6 30 p m Thursday with a 25 prize. A rope pull at 9 p m. Friday features Kid's Day and a Pet Parade at 7 30 p m. Saturday hosts Baby Parade and baked goods sale in the Elementary School auditorium.

The New Holland Fair runs Thursday to Saturday with an opening parade on Thursday at 7 p.m. A 1 p.m. 4-H Baby Beef Show and sale precedes Hog Show. Lancaster Man Part Of Group Paying Record Auction Price
Charles Myers of Lancaster County joined four other dairymen at the Pennsylvania All American Invitational Holstein Sale in Harrisburg to pay a state record 41000 for a seven month old Osborndale Ivanhoe bull calf named Peters Farms ABC Ivanhoe. The dam is Penny Re Echo Alsfarm and the calf was consigned by Emil G Peters Port Matilda. It will stay at Myer s Black and White Farm in Lancaster. Top female price reached 5200 won by J Mowery Frey Jr in Beaver Valley Pike for Faltonway Pere former Gina Rae sold to Raymond Anthony and Richard Curtis. Other Lancaster entries included Groffdale Marquis Mollie owned by Robert Groff.

Cattle Hog Outlook Meeting Hears Market Forecasts
The annual cattle and hog outlook review will be held Monday September 27 at the Farm and Home Center. Penn State economist H Lewis Moore and Lancaster County ag agent Max Smith invite cattle and hog producers and neighbors to discuss numbers market trends feed supplies and profit outlook. Auction results from Quarryville RD3 Solanco Fair Dairy Show include Quarryville winner at 2100 and Mellie’s heifer calf at 500. Con Nell Model Sylvia 2650 and Cocalico Majority Irene 1200. Eight other animals, besides the bull calf, were bought by Lancaster County buyers including Moses Good Charles Myers Melvin Kolb Norman Kolb and Ira D Welk and Son.

Second Runner-Up Named In Dairy Princess Contest
Sue Kauffman of Elizabethtown RD1 was named second runner-up at the 1971 72 Pennsylvania Dairy Princess contest during a recognition banquet tied to the All American Dairy Show in Harrisburg. She received a $25 savings bond. Miss Carol Crandall, representing Erie and Crawford Counties, was crowned Pennsylvania Dairy Princess by Marilyn Krantz. Twenty three contestants from across the state competed to promote milk sales and dairy industry.

Hess Named President of Feed Dealers Association
John J. Hess II, president of Hess' Mill, Paradise, was elected president of the Pennsylvania Millers and Feed Dealers Association at the September meeting in Philadelphia. The Lancaster County Agricultural and Home Economics Association board of directors will meet at 8 p m Tuesday September 28 at the County Extension personnel will discuss plans for fall and winter educational meetings.
