Farm Agent Notes 66 Beef Project Deadline
Enrolment for the 1968 4 H Baby Beef Project invites boys and girls aged 10 to 18 to join. Members start with a 300 to 450 pound steer and raise it for about a year for major shows including the Pennsylvania State Farm Show at Harrisburg. The Red Rose Club serves most of the county with two clubs active.

Annual FFA Roundup at Lampeter Fair in Lancaster County
Future Farmers of America boys from nine Lancaster County high schools gathered at Lampeter Fair grounds for dairy and livestock judging. They will feed steers for November’s State Farm Show and compete in eight livestock classes. The Grasslands Chapter lost rope pulling to Whrate High School and Garden Spot High now holds the rotating plaque. Top school earns the trophy. ribbons awarded to top five individuals per school and county wide top ten receive an FFA membership sign. Enrollment deadline is October 1 with club leaders and the Extension office.
