An Ephrata grower doubles his four acre Mile s W Fry & Son hybrid poplar operation to meet fast rising demand. The business ships to all 48 continental states and several foreign counties, with close to 100 000 cuttings sold last year and hopes to double this year. Area Holstein Bulls Honored in Silver Medal Production Site Designations
Seven Holstein bulls from the Brattleboro region were named Silver Medal Production Sites by the Holstein Friesian Association of America. Bulls include WR sequoia JO Plot GP with 19 daughters averaging 16,606 lbs milk and 612 lbs butterfat, Mustyvale Master Duke with 40 daughters averaging 15,806 lbs milk and 605 lbs butterfat, Yarba Admiral Triumph GP with 19 daughters averaging 15,146 lbs milk and 605 lbs butterfat, Winterthur Wis Leader WG with 11 daughters averaging 16,803 lbs milk and 644 lbs butterfat. All bulls are owned by Attlanttic Breeders Cooperative Lancaster Red Rose, and John W Eshelman & Sons Lancaster.
