Deer herd management plan by ex submarine rocket designer
Charles Romesburg, a former submarine and rocket nuclear design engineer, moved to industrial engineering and led a National Rifle Association funded deer herd study. Using computerized methods, he analyzed reproduction, food, winter mortality, harvest, crop damage, and economic benefits in one Pennsylvania county, projecting a 15 year plan to maximize societal use of the deer resource.
