Hogs Need Sufficient Water to Boost Daily Gains
A University of Tennessee animal husbandman notes hogs expected to gain a pound or more daily must drink at least a gallon of water per day. Tests show hogs with only 25 percent of normal water intake cost about 25 percent more per 100 pounds of gain and may add up to $4 extra per hog to reach market weight.
